On October 4, 2024, the National Health Research Ethics Committee of Nigeria launched the Nigeria “NHREC E-Portal” to facilitate the electronic submission, review, and approval process of health research applications in the country.
The newly appointed Director-General Professor John Oladapo Obafunwa formally assumed office on Friday 2nd August 2024. He immediately held meetings with the senior management committee, union members, and other members of staff and stakeholders.
The Director-General emphasized open-mindedness, transparency, punctuality, hard work and efficiency as the hallmarks of his leadership. The member of staff of the institute warmly received him and pledged their loyalty and support.
