Anti-corruption Transparency (ACTU) Unit in NIMR
Strengthening the NIMR-MTN Foundation partnership.
Following the laudable donation of an Oligo synthesizer equipment to NIMR by the MTN Foundation in 2021, The Director-General of NIMR, Prof. Babatunde Lawal Salako held a joint meeting with the NIMR Oligosynthesis Laboratory Team and the management of the MTN Foundation represented by the Executive Secretary, Mrs Sanya Odunayo on the 20th April 2022 to give a progress report of Oligonucleotides that have been synthesized in NIMR. Challenges faced after the installation of the machine, actions taken, as well as sustainability plans, were part of the highlights of the meeting.
The meeting also provided the opportunity to identify ways to strengthening the NIMR-MTN Foundation partnership.
Comprehensive health advocacy and screening of food handlers/consumers
NIMR with the support of Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, Hon. Speaker, Federal House of Representatives, National Assembly, Abuja officially flagged off a project on comprehensive health advocacy and screening of food handlers/consumers from selected local government areas in Lagos State, Nigeria today, 5th May 2022.
The project is led by Dr. Raheem Toyosi of the Molecular Biology and Biotechnology Department, NIMR.
The activities of the event included symposium on food as a potential vehicle for diseases, and comprehensive health screening of food handlers/consumers.
