HALIFIED SENIOR SECONDARY SCIENCE SCHOOL STUDENTS ON AN EXCURSION TO NIMR
On Thursday, September 26, 2019, the Senior Secondary School (1-3) science students of Halifield Schools, Oki lane, Maryland, Lagos visited NIMR on an excursion.
The Nigerian Institute of Medical Research commemorated The Global Hand-Washing Day on the 15TH of October, 2019 with the Theme: Let’s Give Everyone A Clean Hand.
On the 4th of October, 2019, Dr. Peter Kingham with his team from Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, USA visited NIMR to foster cancer research collaboration. The DG-NIMR, Prof. Babatunde Lawal Salako while welcoming the team expressed the intention of NIMR to collaborate with institutions and organizations on various aspects of medical research.
The DG also mentioned that the institute being national in scope and located in a metropolitan city such as Lagos makes it easier to gather data from hospitals, universities and institutions. He also said that NIMR creates opportunities for research & training as well as laboratory support for students from universities around the world. Dr. Peter Kingham stated that in fostering cancer research collaboration and grants, it is necessary to form the research team between NIMR and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Research Centre.
