The Microbiology Department added another feather to its cap on the 26th November, 2019. This happened after the surveillance and extension of scope assessment for compliance to ISO 15189 by South African National Accreditation System (SANAS). The Center for Tuberculosis Research and heamatology assay at the Center for Human Virology and Genomics were recommended for accreditation.
