CReNMD Training

The Centre for Research in Non-communicable & metabolic disease division (CReNMD), NIMR on 14th July 2023 concluded an 8-day hands-on training for research assistants on the use of Oxford Nanopore Technologies (ONT), Polymerase Chain Reactions, bio-informatics, high-performance liquid chromatography, ELISA & the flow cytometry techniques in the identification of novel diagnostic markers for T2DM to identify an early diagnosis for effective treatment of diabetes.
The training was organized by Prof. Nkeiruka N. Odunukwe the principal investigator of the project and Dr Veronica N. Enya Co-principal investigator

One-day Bio-risk Management (BRM) Advocacy and Training

NIMR and US Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) organized One-day Bio-risk Management (BRM) Advocacy and Training for the staff of the institute on Thursday, May 4, 2023.

The training objectives was to strengthen Biosafety & Biosecurity processes & practices, and promote & maintain work place safety & health in NIMR. Participants were selected from all departments and units of the Institute.

The Advocacy training was supported by the US Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) through Sandia National Laboratories (US).
