The Director General, Nigeria Institute of Medical Research Prof. Babatunde Salako, on Monday, said the institute has discovered a new malaria vector called anopheles stephensi in northern Nigeria.

NIMR with the support of Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, Hon. Speaker, Federal House of Representatives, National Assembly, Abuja officially flagged off a project on comprehensive health advocacy and screening of food handlers/consumers from selected local government areas in Lagos State, Nigeria today, 5th May 2022. The project is led by Dr. Raheem Toyosi of the Molecular Biology & Biotechnology Department, NIMR.
